Opening
Synaptic Ignition is an immersive performance project initiated and directed by Shanshan Zhang.
My contribution focused on choreography: developing movement structures, embodied tasks and physical relationships that could operate across live performance, virtual environments and audience interaction.
The project invited me to consider how choreography can function within a larger immersive system rather than exist only as staged movement.

Building Attention
Within the rehearsal process, my work focused on developing conditions for attention rather than fixing movement material too early.
Tasks, conversations and repeated observation gradually shaped a shared movement language between performers and the wider immersive environment.
Choreography became a way of organising perception, relation and response.
Live Body / Virtual Space
In performance, movement unfolded alongside virtual environments, projected images and audience participation.
The choreography did not operate as a closed sequence, but as one part of a wider system of attention, interaction and spatial experience.
The live body became one element within a larger immersive structure.
Afterwards
Working on Synaptic Ignition shifted my understanding of choreography within collaborative and interdisciplinary contexts.
The project made me reconsider choreography not only as the creation of movement material, but as a way of organising situations in which movement, attention and interaction can emerge.
This experience continues to inform my interest in embodied transmission, digital corporeality and Body as Map.
