Organising Principles
Settle
Settling is not dropping the body. It is the redistribution of body mass into an established support.
Settling is often mistaken for a visible downward action: a dropped hip or a body collapsing towards the floor. This study treats it instead as a redistribution of body mass into support that has already been established.
In this current study, changing mass is observed through its relationship to the Supporting Leg. Ground and pressure become more perceptible through that reception, while the Vertical Spine is considered in relation to downward collapse.
Here, Settle is being tested as a relationship between arriving mass and available support, and as a possible phase within Weight Transfer rather than an action assumed to occur after it.

Principle
Settling is not dropping the body. It is the redistribution of body mass into an established support.
Movement Reading
Organisation
The current observation follows how the Supporting Leg, pressure, ground and Vertical Spine relate while body mass is redistributed.
Embodied Experience
Weight may become clearer without the torso collapsing downward.
Perception
The body may appear to arrive into support rather than drop onto it.
Research Question
What changes when settling is understood as redistribution rather than descent?
